The Viewsonic G-Tab. Why would they put this piece of shit out on the market?

What was Viewsonic thinking when they let this piece of shit go to market for thousands of unsuspecting possible customers to have to deal with? Why did they not include the Android Market on this tablet?

My Father-In-Law was diagnosed with cancer in December of 2010. I knew that he would have to endure hours and hours of chemotherapy and other treatments. He had mentioned that he had some interest in having a tablet but could not afford one. He is in his mid-seventies and lives on a fixed income. So being the excellent son-in-law that I am, I did some research and found a unanimous decision regarding the Viewsonic G-Tablet. Everyone said that the G-Tab is a piece of crap out of the box. It must be rooted first to fill in the missing apps and terrible GUI that comes with the stock unit including the Android Market.Why would a company put out a product that is so universally disdained in the condition it's shipped in is beside me? 

As far as hardware goes, it was very cool. It had memory card slots and usb ports, etc. Shit that the iPad doesn't have. Thats why I really wanted to make this work.

I had this tablet for 3 days and tried rooting it about 40 different ways. None of which, worked. Just go on the Internet and Google "rooting a g-tab" and you will find hundreds of sites all claiming to be the know all and end all when it comes to rooting. I did everything that was asked of me from beginning to end to no avail. I'm still not sure what I was doing wrong but I after 3 days, I wanted to throw that piece of shit against a wall and watch it explode.

Here's the worst thing about it all, I was so frustrated and pissed off. Not only because I couldn't root the damn thing but because I even had to root it at all just to make it usable. That really pissed me off. I finally ended up taking it back and bought a.............. yep, you guessed it. I got him a fucking iPad.

There is a difference between JAZZ and BLUES!

Ok folks. Here is something that pisses me off a lot. There is a fucking difference between Blues Music and Jazz Music. I swear to God there is. Why do people continue to lump them together as if they are the same genre? Just go on line and check out the many on-line radio stations or music selling website. They all lump Blues and Jazz together. And nine times out of ten, they are really offering Jazz music. No Blues at all.

I am sick of these websites that continually tout what great providers of music they are when really they only provide music that sells. Yes, Blues music doesn't sell as much as Pop or Rock or even Country but there are a few million of us that are staright up Blues fans and would like the opportunity to listen to, purchase or download Blues music. Is that too fucking much to ask?

Let this be a warning to parents and students alike. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT GO TO SALLIE MAE FOR YOUR COLLEGE LOAN. They will manipulate you, change paperwork and do whatever they can to get you into their web of deceit.

Their interest rates are incredibly high. Their collection practices border on strong arm and their business ethics are non-existent. Just to give you an idea of how hated this organization is, check out a few of the following websites that have opinions about Sallie Mae.

The reasons that US borders need to be closed NOW!

Let’s pretend that you live in another country. It doesn't matter which one. Just not in the USA. You really want to come to America for all the obvious reasons. They have better jobs, their schools are better and you want to have a better quality of life for your family. So you get a passport and you come to America. You can stay here legally for from 90 days to 6 months depending on type of visa you got.

You know you want to stay in America so you apply for “permanent residence status” and a Green Card. They do a background check on you to make sure you are not a criminal trying to hide from the law in your own country. You then agree to abide by all of the laws of the USA. You now have some of the same freedoms and legal rights as U.S. citizens, but you cannot vote in elections.

To become an actual US citizen, you apply for citizenship through the Department of Justice of the United States. This is a long and grievous process.

First of all, you must be a resident for five years. After five years you can apply for naturalization. There are six steps in applying for naturalization. First you must swear on an oath:

"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that; I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of; the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God”

Then you must take a test of the US government and history. You must take a proficiency test to prove you can read, write, and speak English. You must fill out an application, be fingerprinted, and have your photo taken. Finally you must appear in front of a judge. The judge will then determine if you deserve citizenship. If so, you become a citizen.

This process is not easy but is a lot easier then most other country’s citizenship rules including Mexico. This process has been used for many, many years and literally thousands of people have gone through it to become US citizens including relatives of yours, mine and everybody else that lives here. Our Great Grandparents all came through this system. That is why they call us a nation of immigrants. Not of illegal aliens.

So tell me now, is it really fair to allow people to become citizens of the USA just because they managed to illegally sneak over the border? Is it fair to all of the immigrants that have gone through the waiting period, the interviews, the schooling to learn English as well as American history and then took the oath to become US citizens? No it’s not fair to them at all.

The reason we don’t have open borders not just in America but anywhere in the world is because every criminal that is running from the law in his own country will come here to hide and what do you think they do once they get here? That’s right. They continue being criminals only now you and I are the victims and there is no accountability for them. And if we allow them to go to our schools and use all of our resources then you have the problems we have today.The main reasons that our schools are failing is because we have to spend so much money on teaching English to kids and serving them free lunches that we can’t afford better or more teachers, book, computers, sports uniforms, etc. Non-resident aliens are receiving grants and scholarships to colleges. Grants and Scholarships that should be going to you.

We also spend our tax dollars on illegal’s getting sick or having babies without any insurance or money. Most illegals don’t have insurance or much money because it is illegal to hire them in the USA without a SS card and Drivers license. So they become day-laborers like you see in front of Home Depot. They are paid cash for a days work. Of course this cash is non-taxed. Some must get phony SS Cards and Drivers Licenses to be able to work which creates a market for these stolen items which leads to more crime in our streets. Do you have any idea how much of our tax dollars go to support illegal aliens that are incarcerated in the USA? Money that could be going to our citizens and children.The USA is a rich and prosperous nation. So why is it in such financial straights? We are closing down libraries and laying off police and firemen. That is a damn shame. Just read the following statistics. You will be shocked.

Money spent dealing with illegal aliens.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.
2. $2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.
3. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.
4. $12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally
5. $17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.
6. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.
7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.
8. $90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare and Social Services by the American taxpayers.
9. $200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.
10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two-and-a-half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US.
11. In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin.

Total cost is a whooping... $338.3 BILLION A YEAR!!!

But the biggest problem I have with the people that are protesting our existing but never enforced laws is that they feel that the USA owes them. They are under the mistaken impression that somehow California was stolen from Mexico. Check your history books. California was purchased from Mexico on June 24, 1853, for 10 million dollars. It was called the Gadsden Purchase.

So when I see the protesters carrying signs like this, it just kills me. We don’t owe them a damn thing. In fact it should be the other way around. We have done so much for the country of Mexico and its citizens and never get any respect or appreciation for it.

Here is small lesson for you protesters out there, if you were seen on TV protesting because you love America so much that you want to live here and become citizens and carried American flags when you marched, you may have gained some sympathy. But all you do is show pride for the country that you ran away from and demand that our tax dollars go to you for doing absolutely nothing. In fact, it is a proven fact that most of the immigrants that have managed to get jobs here don’t even spend or save their money here in the USA where it would help our economy. No, they send their money back to whatever country they really have allegiance to. They are just using us.

People love to use the race trump card to try to win their argument. Just because we want the existing immigration laws to be enforced, we are racist? Wrong. The only reason that our illegal alien problem consists mostly of Mexicans is because Mexico is at our border. If we lived next to Germany and they we sneaking over the borders, we would want the Germans to obey our immigration laws too. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with obeying and enforcing existing immigration laws. Pure and simple.

One thing I do want to say is that this entire mess concerning immigration is not the fault of Mexico or Mexican citizens. It is not the fault of the INS or ICE. It is the fault of the United States Government. They have allowed this problem to worsen over the years. They have chosen not to enforce the immigration laws. They have chosen to overlook the problems with illegal immigration for many years. Now it is coming to a head and the finger of blames is being pointed directly at them.

Arizona is a border state that has seen Mexican drug cartels come across their border to commit murders. They have seen shoot-outs in the streets of Nogales. They have seen U.S. citizens disappear never to be seen again. They are sick of it continuing without any help from the U.S. Government so they decided to take matters into their own hands and secure their borders and their citizens.

Don’t you think that people that live in border towns in America have a right to be safe? I do.
Protesters think that by enforcing existing immigration laws in Arizona it will lead to racial profiling and harassment of Mexican Americans.These are lies put out by un-educated, un-American people that need to be deported immediately. Just like every other state in America, there must be "probable cause" for someone to be questioned by the police and then and only then can they be questioned about their citizenship status.

These are not new laws. These are the same laws that have been in existence for many years. No one is out to get anyone. There are just too many people here that do not have any loyalty to this country thus they feel that they need to take and take and take and not give anything back.

Take a look at the states that border Mexico.Those are the states that are going to be pushing their laws into effect just like Arizona. Texas, New Mexico and the state that I’m ashamed to say that I live in, California. Those are the states where the illegal’s land first and the majority stay in those states because it is close to their home. Therefore, those states are the ones paying the majority of the cost of having no immigration policy.

So I after reading this you should know how I stand on this issue and the reasons for my stance. I hope this helps you to understand that this is not a race issue as many people would have you think. It is all about survival. Survival of our families, our country and our way of life.

The following letter was written anonymously and posted on Craigslist Los Angeles. It really sums up my feelings about the L.A.City Council boycot of the State of Arizona. Here it is:


I just don't understand how the idiots who sit on the LA city council (except 1) can even come close to believing they are representing American citizens and legal residents by boycotting Arizona? Excuse me ASSHOLES, but it was not illegal immigrants who voted your sorry asses into office...was it? You filthy traitors to the United States should be brought up on charges of high treason! LA is in the worst depression and downturn in decades and all you piles of crap can do is layoff US citizens, tax US citizens, close city services to US citizens, cancel contracts and stifle trade with Arizona...all the while you aide and abet those who are here illegally. Comparing Arizona's law to NAZI death camps? What the hell is that all about! I have never heard of a single ILLEGAL alien being sent to concentration camps, nor forced to work at hard labor under duress, nor sent to the gas chambers in the last 50 years. What are California politicians thinking? I thought Arnold was a tough guy. He is nothing but a punk that can't and won't stand up to Illegal Mexican Aliens. What a pussy.

 Now don't get me wrong. My best friend is MEXICAN-AMERICAN. My ex-wife is MEXICAN-AMERICAN. That makes my 3 kids half MEXICAN-AMERICAN.  The difference here is that these people are Mexican-Americans, not Illegal Aliens that illegally came here from Mexico. They were all born in the USA, went to school in the USA and speak English like the rest of the USA. That means that they are legal residents and citizens of the United States of America. The USA comes first for them.  The ones that I am bitching about are the Illegal Aliens that believe that the USA owes them a living. They needed to go many years ago. Finally the State of Arizona has shown some balls and stuck up for themselves. God Bless Arizona. 

Come on people. Do you really want to live in a crowded, non-English speaking, crime-riddled, 3rd world state? If you live in California then you already do.

Mobiwee just doesn't work

So I found this website called Mobiwee. It is advertised as a over-the-air backup, file manager, and security for your cell phone. It also touts the ability to allow you to wipe your phone information clean and shut it off all done from any computer that has Internet access. It has versions for Blackberry which I tried and also for iPhone, and android phones. You start by downloading the client software to your phone and creating an account on the website. I did this and then waited to see how it works.

The first thing I asked Mobiwee to do was a very basic task which was to download my contacts to the website so that they could be edited or backed up. I waited 2 days and nothing happened. The software on my phone said that it was connected and the website said that the "request had been sent". Like I said, nothing happened.

Oh I take that back, something did happen. My battery was completely drained within 3 hours of having the software on my phone connected.

The service included the ability to track down your phone if it is lost or stolen. The problem is that if you leave the service connected, your phone will be drained and off within a couple of hours making it useless for tracking down your phone.

To tell you the truth, I didn't try any of the other services because the first one I tried didn't work and my battery was drained so fast that I couldn't possible allow it to remain on. So I just deleted it from my phone.

Sorry but I can't recommend this service to anyone. It just didn't do anything for me but kill my phone battery.

TV Commercials are too damn LOUD!

I know that everyone reading this blog knows exactly what I am talking about. Your sitting there watching your TV show and it stops for a commercial break. All of a sudden, the volume on your TV raises about 20 decibels. Sometimes it gets so loud that I have to tun it down just to keep the neighbors from complaining. Of course the reason for this volume increase is to make sure that you still can hear the commercials even when you get up to go to the kitchen or the bathroom or just in case you had the stupid idea of trying to sneak in a little conversation during commercials.

I believe that all TV channels use this sort of unethical marketing ploy but I have noticed that some channels are worse then others. I happen to live in the Los Angeles area. If you also live here or are just visiting, just turn on channel 9 which is KHJ. They might be the worse violator of the volume problem. Channel 13 which is KCOP is almost as bad. It gets so bad that you must stop what you are doing to get the remote and lower the volume. Its obnoxiously bad.

Personally I have the Dish Network as my TV provider but it does not matter whether you have cable or satellite. When the commercial comes on, the volume goes up.

The California Franchise Tax Board and IRS can Eat Shit and Die!

Those shyster mother fuckers don't give a fuck about the American tax payer. All they care about is getting our money. They don't give a shit if you are a single mother trying to raise 3 kids on your own. They don't give a shit if you work 2 jobs and are trying to put your child through College. Hell no. They just want your money so they can pay for more war and welfare programs.

I recently received a letter from both the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board. They both said that I owed them back taxes for year 2005. No explanation was given to me. But the letter did state that I originally owed around $850 but it was now figured at $1289.71 and climbing.

So now with absolutely no recourse or defense, I must turn over more of my hard earned money so that our Government can maintain it's opulent lifestyle.

That's what you see when I send you a message from my Blackberry. "Sent from my Blackberry smartphone with Sprint". But there are now 2 Blackberry Curves put out by Sprint and Nextel which, of course, is owned by the same people. You would never guess how huge the differences are between exact same Blackberry Curve models.

My very first cell phone carrier was Sprint. That was over 20 years ago. I had Sprint for many years but once the Push-to-Talk system came out with Nextel, I switched to Nextel. I was very happy with Nextel. The first big difference I noticed was that my monthly bill now came in at the amount of the plan. No overages or extras. When I was with Sprint, I never received a monthly bill that wasn't chock full of extra minutes used, text charges, fees, etc, etc. I felt very abused by Sprint and very relieved to make the switch to Nextel.

It goes without saying that I was one disappointed son-of-a-bitch when Sprint bought Nextel. And my fears were right on. From the very first bill that I received from the "NEW Sprint/Nextel" I was again over charged. I was again constantly calling them to ask about the new fees and charges. A lot of the time they actually took the fees off of my bill but most of the time, they didn't.

Another big difference is that the Nextel Curve does not have color icons which sucks. It also doesn't support Sprint TV. These are a couple of deal breakers to me.

But I had to put up with it because I needed to have direct connect for work and Nextel was the only carrier with this service.

*UPDATE

I have now decided that having direct connect wasn't as important as having a phone that you like so I left Nextel and went strictly with Sprint. I now have the 4G Evo. An Android phone that is pretty cool. My favorite feature? Watching my home Television on my Evo of course. I love that feature. Of course the battery life on the EVO just plain sucks so I bought a 3500 mHa battery from eBay. That is twice the size of the OEM battery. It was kinda cheap so it only lasts a little longer then the original but I had to have it.

Random Drug Testing should be Outlawed!

Let me give you a little history. I am not a drug user. Therefore I have no reason for being against mandatory drug testing except for the following reasons;

• It is a huge invasion of my personal privacy.
  
• It assumes that I am guilty until I am proven innocent.
• An entire career that someone has worked for can be ruined by just one bad test.
• Why should anyone give a shit if I smoked a joint in my own home 2 weeks ago? What I do in my own home and on my own time is no ones fucking business.
  

My Father was a Police Officer for over 40 years of his life. The last 38 years was spent as a Chief of Police. My Father was as hard core and as conservative as you would expect an old school, lifetime Copper to be. But one thing my Dad never did was randomly drug test his men. He didn't believe in it. His men meant more to him then subjecting them to this humiliating invasion of privacy.

Now don't get me wrong. I don't want to see airline pilots, truck drivers, or anyone else in jobs that can effect the safety of the general population coming to work high on drugs or alcohol. I completely understand that but the key phrase here is "while at work". If you think I am high or drunk at work, by all means, test me. If I am doing my job and doing it well, then leave me the hell alone. Is that really too much to ask?
If I am a good employee and do not show any signs of being high or drunk then let me do my job. Why would you want to jeopardize my job and family's well being for a stupid, non-relevant test that is not 100% accurate to begin with?

If I get into an accident at work then I should be tested. But don't test me for THC in my system that was there two weeks prior. Test me for alcohol or drugs that are currently in my system and strong enough to interfere with my motor skills.

Just take a look around the Internet. There are tons of websites and products dedicated to help people beat drug tests. Not only has drug testing created a giant industry for the pharmaceutical companies, it has also created a huge industry to counter act those tests. God Bless American ingenuity.

So here is my message to the employers and drug testing companies of the world, If you want to invade my privacy and humiliate me, at least do it for a good reason. You should only test for being currently under the influence of substances. You have no right to know what I do on my own time. if you think I am high or intoxicated, test my breath or test me to see what type of intoxicants I may be on. If I am not currently high or drunk but a drug test shows past usage, tough shit. That is my business and my business only! It has nothing to do with what is going on today.

I can only imagine the number of people that have lost there jobs, never got the job that they were schooled for or were wrongfully persecuted for something they did in the past because of drug tests. That is a damn shame.

As you may or may not be able to tell from this blog, my life has been altered because of unfair random drug tests. I only admit this because I believe that I am a good person with a lot to offer any employer who would be fortunate enough to have me as an employee.

I really believe that it is politicians that are out of touch with reality along with the pharmaceutical companies that are pushing for random drug testing. The revenue these tests produce are incredible. it's all about money and stupid politicians that don't know the real story or don't care. After all, pharmaceutical companies have a huge army of lobbyists that legally grease palms and shake hands to get things done. And the reason that most people are not tested for alcohol is because it is legal and the assholes that require you to take a drug test is an alcoholic and doesn't want the tables turned on him.

I hope and pray that some day the world or at least the good ole USA will come to it's senses and stop this un-winnable war on drugs and it's citizens. Then we can move tax dollars to where they belong, Education, Mental health services, Strengthening our infrastructure and ending poverty in America.

IPODS Suck (or maybe it's just Apple)

I have owned many MP3 players but I decide one day to get an IPOD. It is supposed to be the best MP3 player on the market. I figured that if it is that popular, there must be something to it.

WRONG!

IPOD's are the biggest pain-in-the-ass, piece of shit, piece of electronics that I have ever owned. Maybe it's because Apple is so fucking scared of what the recording industry may do if they actually created a device that was capable of (oh my God) being able to copy and delete files on the unit itself. Wow, that could really throw the music industry into a tail spin.

Can anyone tell me whay Apple has made it impossible (without 3rd party software) to manipulate the content of an Ipod? it is my content. I own it. Why can't I fuck with it if I want to?

Oh well, just go fuck yourselves, Apple. I'll keep on using my cheaper, easier to use, and more functional MP3 player. You can find my old Ipod on Craigslist. You can have it for a steal.

UPDATE* I currently have a friends Ipod Touch. He asked me to put music on it for him because you must have a lot of patience and some experience before attempting to add music to an Ipod and he didn't think he had what it takes to take on one of these monsters. It is unbelievably difficult to do this. Itunes has to be the worst piece of monopolized software ever created.

Adobe acrobat has to be the slowest, buggiest, most bloated piece of shit software ever created. Actually, any software that comes with the Adobe name will be the slowest, most memory demanding and the worst running software you have. Guaranteed.

When PDF files first came out, I thought they were really slick. Being able to actually download and fill out forms that looked like the real form. It appeared on screen great and printed even better.

But they couldn't leave well enough alone. Now this piece of garbage has gotten so out-of-hand that it constantly crashes computers, constantly interrupts your work to "update" and then actually still makes you "reboot" your computer to complete an install. But while Stumbling one night (on the computer) I came across this little test to see if I knew my Guitar Solo trivia. It was pretty cool. I scored a 93 out of 100 although I thought that I only got one answer wrong but oh well.

A Letter to my Father

Dear Dad,

How in the world did you do it? You are absolutely amazing. People can plan out their lives and control a lot of the things around them but how in Gods name did you control and plan your own death? People die with regrets and with un-closed business and they leave loved ones without making amends but you made sure that all of your t's were crossed and your i's were dotted before you left this earth.

We all know that you didn't die from any long term medical problems because you were only 76 years young when you passed and in great health and still traveling around the world with Mom.You were still performing your charity works for the poor migrant workers of Indeo on a daily basis.

We all knew that you didn't drown as your Death Certificate stated. You loved the water and you were snorkeling in the ocean off of a Tahitian Island at the time of your death. What a way to go.

But we still think that you planned and orchestrated your own death. Of course you couldn't do this alone. You had to have some help so you went to your most trusted friend. The person you talked to every day. The person that you confided in and confessed to. The person you honored and adored every day of your life. Of course that person is Jesus Christ.

You can't change my mind about the way I feel about this, Dad. And here is why;

1. You died in the ocean. You always loved the ocean. You were an avid fisherman all of your life, you owned your own boats and even enlisted in the Navy on your 18th birthday.

2. You died away from home so that we couldn't see you immediately after you died. You thought it would upset us too much.

3. You died while snorkeling off of an island near Tahiti. I can take a poll of 1000 people and ask them how they would like to die and give them that option. I'll bet 950 out of the 1000 would choose to go your way.

4. Although you were very healthy, you called each one of your four children into your office just weeks before your death and told each of us what personal jewelry of yours you would like each of us to have after your death. Of course we all wondered why you chose this date in your young life to do this but now we know why.

5. You left your wife of 53 years very well off and well taken care of.

6. You made sure that you died without putting us through the pain of watching you die from cancer or some other medical malady or even worse, in a plane or car crash.

7. Everyone in the family knew that you wanted to be buried at sea but that it was against your Catholic faith which meant more to you than anything else in the world. To you, this was the next best thing. Enter the ocean and into Christ's arms.

8. You always said that the amount of friends and family that show up at a persons funeral is directly related to the weather conditions outside that day. Of course you died in the summer time because you didn't want to create any hardships for any of your friends or family.

9. Because of your position as Chief of Police and because you were a Police Officer for over 40 years, you attended, spoke at and led many funerals. You led many ceremony's for fallen officers, friends and relatives. You even managed to lead your own funeral by having your youngest son and a clone of yourself, speak at your funeral. He spoke as you would have spoken.

10. Because of your deep Catholic faith and your love for your fellow man, we believe that after working out this deal with the Lord, your just rewards would be to sit at the right hand of God and be with him for eternity. I know that you are watching and waiting for us and especially Mom to come home to Heaven so you can see the family that you loved and nourished and raised once again. And Pop, we can't wait to see you either.

I just don't think that any of us kids have the kind of juice that you have with the Big Guy upstairs to orchestrate the end of our lives like you did. Ok, it's possible that Mom does but the reason I don't think so is because if she had it her way, she probably would have gone with you instead of staying here and missing you so much. But then again, she does have her Kids, her Grand kids and her Great Grand kids to consider. Who really knows?

Pop, we miss you so much. Not a day goes by without all of us thinking of you. You were the most wonderful Father and the greatest role model any kids could have. Thanks for everything you did for us Dad.

Why are 7-11 & AM/PM owners such dipshits?

I tend to stop at places like 7-11 or AM/PM in the morning on the way into work. I work at different venues so I don't stop at the exact same store each day. I usually hit these stores fairly early in the morning. My favorite fast breakfast food is a 1/4 lb hot dog. I actually like the AM/PM hot dogs better then the 7-11 hot dogs mostly because a couple of years back, 7-11 decided to start using these big, fat, egg enriched buns that I don't dig. Too much bun for me. Now comes the reason for this rant.

Since I like AM/PM hot dogs best, I will make an effort to look for a AM/PM before I settle for a 7-11 hot dog. I can go to an AM/PM one day at 6:30am and ask for a hot dog and they have them ready to go but the next day the same AM/PM will not have any hot dogs ready. I will ask them why they don't have any hot dogs ready and they say that it's too early for hot dogs. That's when I tell them to go fuck themselves which they usually don't appreciate. What I want to eat for breakfast is my business. There business should be to make there customers (me) happy.

I know that you are saying: Hey dipshit, Those hot dogs were probably left over from the night before. WRONG. I know my hot dogs and they can't pass and old dog off as new to me.

When I work in the lovely city of Long Beach California, I travel down 7th Ave on the way to the Convention Center. There are two 7-11's on 7th Ave. I know that I can stop at the first one (that is in a better area than the 2nd one) and it will not have hot dogs ready at 6:OOam but if I keep going down the road a couple more miles I will come upon the second 7-11 (that is in the ghetto) and they will have fresh hot dogs on the grill. Now the difference here is that the first 7-11 will always have a fresh maple or chocolate bar available but the second 7-11 is always sold out. When I ask them why they don't have the donuts they tell me that they are very popular and sell out quick. Ok Mr 7-11 owner. If they are so fucking popular, try ordering a few extra so that you can sell more donuts. That doesn't seem like a very difficult business decision to me.

So come on you "quicky mart" owning dip shits. Lets get our collective shit together and start catering to your customers. If we want hot dogs and maple bars at 6:00am then damn it, give it to us. and don't worry about my heart exploding. That is my business. You business is to sell me shit that is bad for me.

I'm not against COPS but this one is an asshole.

I want to preface this story by telling you a little about myself. I am not a Cop hater. In fact my Father whom I respected and adored (passed away in 2004) was a Police Officer for over 40 years and retired as Chief of Police. My youngest Brother retired as a Police Officer and is now a Lieutenant for the Coroners Office. So I come from a Cop family and do not have anything but admiration for the hard work that Police Officers do on a daily basis. I truly believe that Police Officers have a calling from God. I guess there is always the exception. Read on ....

A couple of years ago my girlfriend and I moved into this big, old house in Uptown Whittier, Ca. Our neighbors were Rick and Fran and their two kids. Rick is a 20 year veteran of L.A.P.D. and Fran is a stay-at-home-mom.

The first thing I noticed was that Rick hardly ever went to work. I often wondered how he managed to live in his nice house and drive his new BMW's while never going to work. I found out that he had claimed back and neck injuries while on the job so he was undergoing treatments and surgeries, probably all while being paid his full salary.

I also understand that he has an on-going lawsuit against the department. I have also learned that he has had some disciplinary problems that have led to him being transferred to different divisions within the Department.

I rarely ever saw Rick during the year that we were neighbors but I heard him yelling and belittling his wife, Fran many times. My girlfriend was very good friends with Fran and witnessed many verbal assaults Rick made upon his wife and kids. Back then Fran told us that Rick would rarely allow anyone over to their house that he didn't know but made exceptions for us because we came from a Cop family. I guess that made us OK in his eyes. I believe it is the "us against them" personality that some Cops seem to take on after a few years on the force.

After we were forced to move from that house because our greedy, fucking, bitch of a landlord decided to capitalize on the real estate boom that was going on at that time, I didn't see much of Rick and Fran for quite a while although my girlfriend still saw Fran quite regularly. My Girlfriend would come home and tell me stories of how he yelled at Fran and the things he would say to her and the kids. It was sickening but I wasn't personally witnessing the outbursts so it didn't have the same impact on me as it did on my Girlfriend. Actually I told my Girlfriend that I didn't want to hear anymore of the stories because if it was that bad that Fran would have done something about it. My thinking was that if Fran was that miserable, she would leave or kick him out or something. I didn't realize until later how wrong I was.

Lets just move the hands of time ahead to October of 2007. My Girlfriend asked me if I would go with her to Frans one night to help hang some Halloween lights and of course I agreed. When we arrived and walked up to the front door I noticed that their youngest Daughter was in the Living Room watching TV. The TV was a little 13" TV that I had bought to put in our kitchen in the house so my Girlfriend could watch TV while cooking or cleaning. When we moved we gave it to Fran so she could put it into her kitchen. I asked her where her big TV was. She said it had broke over a year ago and Rick would not by a new one. But Rick had a nice new Flat Screen TV in his bedroom. It was hooked up to his DVD player and video game system. I started to think that Rick was pretty selfish for not getting them a decent sized TV but it was none of my business.

Fran was now about 10 feet up on a ladder while we held flashlights and the ladder for her safety. Her little Daughter was playing with a flashlight and you could tell how excited she was about Halloween coming up and us decorating for the occasion.

All of a sudden Rick sticks his head out of the side door and starts screaming the most vilest and threatening things to Fran. He was telling her to get her fucking, fat ass inside before he came out there and yanked her ass in himself. After a few more screams I had to say something. I just said "Come on Rick. You don't have to say that kind of shit to her". He then quieted down for a minute but soon started up again telling her to get her ass inside the house "right fucking now".

Fran went into the house and my Girlfriend and I began to gather the lights and tools up. We waited until she came back outside to make sure she was alright. She came outside about 10 minutes later. She was crying and her Daughter was very upset. The little girl told us how scared she was of her Daddy and didn't want to go back inside the house. My Girlfriend just held Fran while she cried. I played with their Daughter trying to take her mind off of the terrible incident that she just witnessed. Fran never said a word back to Rick or gave him a hard time of any kind. She absolutely did not deserve the tirade that he threw at her. I wondered how many time this poor little girl has had to witness this terrible abuse by her Father.

I finally had to ask Fran why she hadn't left this abusive monster yet and then she began to tell me why. First of all he threatens her constantly. It's not like she's married to some guy who works in construction and he is threatening to shoot his wife. This asshole has a license to carry firearms. Thats fucking scary. He tells her that he will shoot her and bury her in the desert. He tells her that he has connections with the Russian Mafia and they will kill her for him. He calls her every foul name in the book. I asked her why she hasn't gotten a restraining order and kicked his ass out of the house. She said that because she was scared to death.

She went on to tell me that he had gotten two more loans on the house and they now owe way more then the house is worth. He constantly threatens to sell the house because he knows that she loves that house and has put her blood and sweat into making it the most beautiful house on the block. She told me how he goes to a nail salon and gets his nails and toes done every single week. She has not been to go to a nail salon in almost a year. She told me how he goes shopping for clothes constantly but has suits and clothes lined up in his closet, her closet, and their Daughters closets. Most of the clothes still have the sales tags on them. She went on to tell me how he goes food shopping weekly and buys food for him and a few small things such as bottled water for the girls but that is it. She does not own a cell phone but their older daughter has one that he constantly badgers her with. He send s ehr text messages all night long when she is out with friends or on a date.

Fran continued telling me that he went back to work after his initial surgeries on his neck but after a few months he got into some trouble at work and was being accused of something by another officer who just happened to be female. So then he said that he was having knee problems and was out of work again. He went in for more surgery. This time it was elective surgery. In other words, he could have gone without it but he needed the excuse to be gone form work but still draw a salary. I believe that is called fraud but what do I know. That is your hard earned tax dollars at work folks.

After witnessing what I saw and talking in depth with Fran I now realize what she is up against. If he is forced to move from the house, Fran believes that he is capable of killing her or doing other kinds of bodily damage to her. She also said that he would stalk her and refuse to pay any of the bills for the house. Now that he has the payments up around $2100.00 per month, she would need help making those payments.

She also told me how their youngest Daughter got kicked out of her first two schools because she was repeating stuff at school that she heard her Daddy say to her Mom. The Daughter is now having some learning problems that can be directly attributed to living with this asshole.

Something has got to be done about this monster. He is a psycho and needs to be separated from any guns.
